Jharkhand Rai University Overview

Jharkhand Rai University also known as JRU is a private university that is located in the state of Jharkhand. JRU was established in 2011 and since then it has been approved by UGC (University Grants Commission) and is also NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accredited. It is one of the first private universities in Jharkhand as well as the neighbouring states of West Bengal and Bihar to be approved by NAAC, which is quite a commendable fact. JRU is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London, as well as the Association of Indian Universities AIU and has an ISO certification of 9001:2015.

Jharkhand Rai University (JRU) was founded by Prof. Arun Nigavekar who also the former chairman of UGC (University Grants Commission). Arun Nigavekar has vast knowledge in the management side and has many sizeable contributions to the field of science.

JRU is an Institution with a vision of creating an employable workforce, making a compelling transformation in various educational sectors, thereby strengthening the nation's human resources. It offers 21 courses across 7 disciplines. The most popular courses in the University are B.Tech, BBA, B.Ss and BA+LLB. JRU is considered a centre for transformative education. Students have an amazing set of faculty members who guide the students and help them grow and evolve as dynamic individuals. JRU strives to advance research and innovation and push the boundaries of traditional education. As an Institution, it is dedicated to serving the students, serving the community and the nation through its contributions to higher education.

In the year 2014, it also received the "Best Private University" award for its contribution in the field of higher education by ASSOCHAM. The Ranchi College of Pharmacy is its affiliate college.

Jharkhand Rai University offers a multitude of courses over several subjects that range from B Tech to B pharm. Students seeking to pursue higher education will have plenty of options to choose from at JRU. There are various levels of courses like diploma, under graduation, post-graduation, and Ph.D. It holds the place of the only University in Jharkhand to be approved by NAAC.

The University has a good infrastructure and has all the facilities and provisions for the students that help them in their academics as well as in co-curricular activities. There is a hostel, library, cafeteria, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, dedicated land for agricultural practices, laboratories for practical learning, seminar halls, conference halls, language lab etc. There is a student counselling cell as well as a placement cell that ensure that the students have great career prospects as soon as they finish their courses. With tie-ups and collaborations with different companies – the placement cell in JRU has been very successful in helping students pave the way for themselves in their respective professional fields.

Jharkhand Rai University (JRU) Online Admission Process

Since the onset of corona pandemic most of the admission process has been shifted online at Jharkhand Rai University. Candidate who wants to secure an admission should visit the official website of the institute and click on Apply Now. Candidate needs to select the desired course and fill in all the details that are mandatory. There is a nominal application fee of Rs 500 which is to be paid while submitting an application. The application fee can be paid via credit / debit cards, net banking or through UPI as well. Once submitted the candidate would receive an acknowledgement via sms and email as well for the further Jharkhand Rai University admission process.

Jharkhand Rai University (JRU) Offline Admission Process

Candidates who are seeking admission at Jharkhand Rai University can also take admission via offline mode by visiting the admission cell directly. The candidate would be given an admission form which they need to fill with all the required details. Candidate can clear any questions or doubts they have about a specific course at the admission cell itself. While submitting the form the candidate needs to pay a nominal fee of Rs 500 which can be paid via credit / debit cards, net banking or through UPI as well. Once submitted the admission cell would give a receipt of acknowledgement to the candidate.

  • The form is priced at Rs 500, payable at the JRU Campus in Ranchi.
  • In case of an online downloaded form, you need to enclose it with along with a Demand Draft of Rs 550 in favourof "Jharkhand Rai University" payable at Ranchi, which should be sent to the admission office.
