People's Education Society University was established in 2013. The Karnataka State Act of 2013 is behind the setting up and establishment of this university. It was earlier affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, but now it functions autonomously under the VTU.

PES University campus is divided into three campuses in the city of Bangalore, namely the Ring Road campus, Electronic City campus, and the Hanumanth Nagar campus. All the institute campuses are spacious and built, keeping in mind the students and faculties alike. Its main aim is to create a better class of students.
